Case Study Talent Acquisition and HR Technology

Oleeo

Oleeo, the enterprise talent acquisition platform serving global organizations and government bodies, was competing in an HR technology market dominated by Workday, Greenhouse, and Lever with organic visibility far below their actual enterprise customer base and market position. The gap between their product quality and their search presence was costing them meaningful enterprise pipeline.

The Challenge

Oleeo powers hiring at some of the world’s largest and most complex organizations, including major UK government departments, global financial institutions, and enterprise manufacturers managing thousands of annual hires. That enterprise credibility and complexity handling is Oleeo’s core differentiator. Yet in organic search, they were largely invisible to the HR leaders, talent acquisition directors, and procurement teams researching enterprise ATS platforms. Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday Recruiting had built dominant content programs; Oleeo had minimal SEO infrastructure and a modest content library that had not been systematically updated in years.

The comparison content gap was particularly costly. Enterprise buyers evaluating recruiting platforms explicitly search “Greenhouse alternative,” “enterprise ATS for large organizations,” and “recruiting software for government.” None of these searches surfaced Oleeo-owned content. Third-party review sites that ranked for these terms often placed Oleeo lower than smaller, less capable competitors, a credibility problem rooted in the absence of Oleeo’s own authoritative voice in search results.

The government and regulated sector buying context also created a unique SEO opportunity that had not been activated: government HR leaders searching for compliant, security-cleared ATS platforms are a small but extraordinarily high-value segment. Content specifically addressing GDPR compliance, government hiring workflows, and diversity hiring mandates could capture this segment with minimal competition.

Our Approach

We began with a comprehensive competitive content gap analysis across Oleeo’s top 12 competitors, producing a prioritized content roadmap targeting the highest-value gaps first: comparison content, enterprise use-case content, and sector-specific content for government and financial services. The comparison content program built eight head-to-head pages targeting Oleeo’s most frequently evaluated alternatives, with each page structured around genuine differentiation in complexity handling, compliance, and enterprise integration depth.

The enterprise content program addressed the full buying committee for large-organization ATS decisions: TA Directors responsible for candidate experience and process efficiency, CHROs focused on strategic workforce planning, and IT/Procurement evaluating security, compliance, and integration. Each persona received dedicated content tracks. ABM content for Oleeo’s active named account list targeted the specific hiring challenges of 30 priority enterprise and government organizations. Technical SEO addressed slow page performance with LCP at 4.9s on key product pages, missing schema across all commercial pages, and a URL structure splitting PageRank across near-duplicate product pages.

Key Initiatives

  • Built 8 competitor comparison pages targeting enterprise ATS evaluation searches and “alternative to [competitor]” queries
  • Developed 3-persona enterprise content architecture: TA Director, CHRO, and IT/Procurement tracks
  • Created sector content hubs for government hiring and financial services talent acquisition
  • Reduced LCP from 4.9s to 2.0s through image optimization and server response improvements
  • Deployed HiringOrganization, SoftwareApplication, and FAQPage schema across all commercial pages
  • Built ABM content aligned to 30 priority named enterprise and government account targets

The Results

Enterprise demo requests from organic grew 224% over 12 months. The comparison pages drove 31% of all organic demo requests within 5 months of launch, with conversion rates 2.8x higher than general content pages. First-page rankings for target enterprise ATS and talent acquisition queries grew from 12 at baseline to 89, establishing Oleeo as a consistently visible option across the full enterprise ATS evaluation journey.

The government sector content hub generated 8,200 monthly sessions from government and public sector HR audiences within 8 months. Content-influenced pipeline grew $2.2M in the 12-month period, with ABM-aligned content contributing 18 first meetings with named enterprise accounts. Domain Rating improved from DR 44 to DR 58, supported by 26 editorial placements in HR technology and enterprise technology publications.

“Oleeo serves some of the world’s most demanding hiring organizations, but you would never have known that from our organic presence before this engagement. SaaS SEO built the comparison content and enterprise buyer content that finally gave us a voice in the searches where hiring decisions are being researched.”
— Fiona Blackwood, Chief Marketing Officer at Oleeo
